A man was stabbed in the back it what police believe was a targeted attack.
The victim - a 27-year-old man - was assaulted at 11.40pm on Wednesday in Laing Road.
It is understood he was found in nearby Charles Pell Road.
The man has been taken to hospital.
He is in a stable condition.
A dog unit and the police helicopter were called to assist in the search for suspects. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Det Insp Gary Biddle, of Colchester CID, said: “We believe this is a targeted attack and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at around the time of the incident or saw anything suspicious.

“We urge anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to call 101 and speak to Colchester CID. The reference number is 1268 of 25/04.”
“Alternatively, witnesses can contact the Crimestoppers charity 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.”
