Prospective students are being invited to visit Braintree's state-of-the-art innovative Stem centre to learn more about apprenticeships.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, The College at Braintree, in Church Lane, is opening the doors to its Innovation Centre, with around 1,300 year ten students booked to visit from across the district.

Students will meet with apprenticeship providers and employers to learn the benefits of studying an apprenticeship from those already working towards them.

The day includes a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, which features high-tech workshops, replica industrial facilities and classrooms.

In the evening, a series of talks will be given by specialist employers and training providers, to pupils who are thinking about their first steps on the career ladder.

The general public are welcome to attend the open session of the event, which takes place between 5pm and 7pm on Monday, March 5.

The College at Braintree is run by Colchester Institute.
