GENEROUS football fans have raised more than £1,000 for a children’s hospice.
Mum Alli Thumwood, from East Bergholt, lost her 14-year-old son Jack to a brain tumour eight years ago.
To thank Little Havens Hospice, which provides support for children and families like Jack’s, Alli is hoping to raise £5,380, which matches the height of Everest base camp.
Alli, who works in hospitality for Colchester United, will hike up Mount Everest on March 23.
She also held a bucket collection at the recent Colchester United v Cambridge United match, which raised £1,207. A total of £1,857 has already been raised through her Just Giving page.
