SCOUTS will be stepping out as postmen and women as they start their Christmas delivery fundraiser.

The 1st and 2nd Parkeston Scout Group will charge 25p per card and deliver them in Harwich, Bathside, Dovercourt, Parkeston, Tollgate, along Ramsey Road and Oakley Road as far as Mayes Lane.

Collection boxes will be placed in various locations around the town from December 1.

The collections begin on December 5 until December 19, and all of the proceeds will go towards Scout Group Funds.

Scout leader Brian Mayo said: “Last year we delivered 14,000 cards and that raised about £3,000.

“We have been delivering the cards since 1982 and it was originally done to raise money for a camp trip.”
