THERE was a close shave for the male residents at a care home as staff staged a special pamper session to celebrate International Men’s Day.
The team at Silversprings, in Thorrington, called in barbers from Goodfellas barbers in Colchester to take over the care home’s salon for the morning, offering cuts, trims and shaves to men living at the home.
Afterwards, residents were treated to a special men’s lunch of steak and ale pie, followed by their favourite film – Sherlock Homes.
Home manager Donna Cousins said: “We wanted to take the time to celebrate International Men’s Day in the home by treating the male residents to a real men’s day and give them a bit of pampering!
“All the residents had a brilliant day and are all looking very sharp!
"I’d like to thank Gohar from Goodfellas Barbers for helping us celebrate the day and hope to welcome them back to the home in the future.”
