A £2MILLION refurbishment has made this McDonald’s restaurant one of the most state of the art in the country.

The Cowdray Avenue branch reopened just in time before the breakfast menu ended after being shut for two months.

Boasting a swanky new look and more space inside and out, franchisee Craig Newnes is “loving it”. No pun intended.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

He said: “I hope my customers feel the same way once they’ve seen our stunning new restaurant.

“The striking interior creates an atmosphere that is relaxed, contemporary, and welcoming, whether people are on the go, catching up with friends or spending time with their families.

“I’ve extended the dining area to have 210 seats inside along with over 100 seats outside.

“A children’s play land or gym has also been installed so youngsters can enjoy themselves on their visit.

“I’m so proud of my team who have brought this whole project to fruition and we look forward to welcoming our valued customers back.”

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

Modernising the fast food chain took two weeks longer than anticipated, but 50 new jobs have been created in the process.

Familiar face MP Will Quince, who likes to hold ‘Mc’ Surgeries at McDonald’s, was there early doors to cut the ribbon at the door.

Mr Newnes had applied for planning permission this summer to bring the design up to date with other chains.

He said: “My investment has been focussed on creating a new and exciting experience for my valued customers.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

“It’s been much more than changing the design of the restaurant as substantial investment has been made in front of and behind the counter.

“Digital technology is at the heart of my customers’ experience.

“From ordering through touch screen kiosks, to offering table service and wireless charging units for smart phones and providing tablets for both our young and older customers.”
