HOLIDAY company Exodus Travels have announced today (July 20) a three-year sponsorship with parkrun UK to “continue to support Essex parkrun, bringing local communities together and to celebrate the great outdoors”

Managing Director of Exodus Travels, Pete Burrell said: “The goal behind the partnership is to ensure that parkrun remains free and easily accessible to everyone. I’ve had such a wonderful experience with my local parkruns, and want everyone to be able to be a part of parkrun’s open and friendly community.”

Parkrun is a free, timed, 5K run open to everyone regardless of age and fitness level taking place weekly across the country.

The event is coordinated by volunteers meaning sponsorship is necessary to ensure is remains free.

A total of 13 runners joined founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt for the inaugural event that took place in Bushy Park, London in 2014.

Parkrun now has an international family of two million registered walkers, runners and volunteers.

More than 450 parkrun’s are held every Saturday across the UK.
