ORPHANED children from Uganda will share a message of hope at three free concerts in Dovercourt.

The Watoto Children’s Choir will share stories of their lives as well as sing and dance at the performances at 7pm on May 30, 31 and June 1.

Held at King’s Way Community Church in Kingsway, Dovercourt, the Signs and Wonders concert is part of a tour of the choir, made up of orphans and vulnerable children from Uganda in Africa.

The choir has travelled extensively since 1994, sharing a message of hope for Africa’s orphans and widows.

To date, the choir has toured six continents and performed to audiences in schools, retirement homes, churches, parliaments, state houses and royal palaces.

Each child in the Watoto Children’s Choir has suffered the loss of one or both parents and now lives in a Watoto village.

Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission by sharing personal stories, music and dance.

While on the road, the children act as advocates for the millions of other African children who have experienced the same heartbreaking pain and suffering as them.

John Maxwell, of King’s Way Community Church, said: “The choir is 18 children plus adults and a backing group.

“The Watoto is a ministry that does a lot of work in Africa. This is the only way they make money - they only do free concerts but a collection is held on the night for donations.

They are absolutely fabulous - they choir has performed for the queen, the American president and parliament in Australia.”

Tickets are free but booking is advised, but there will be tickets available on the night.
