A PROUD headteacher has praised the effort of her staff and pupils after her school received a “good” report from Ofsted.

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, in The Drive, Dovercourt, was praised for its determined leadership, good behaviour and clear improvement plan.

The “good” rating is the second best grade.

The report said: “St Joseph’s has retained the positive ethos identified at the previous inspection in which pupils develop strong academic and social skills.

“Parents are overwhelmingly supportive of the quality of education provided by staff and feel well informed about the work of the school.

Marie Kelly, acting headteacher, said: “It was very welcome to read this very positive report and I think it reflects the great education the children are getting.

“Everyone is extremely pleased and it is lovely to hear the parents are happy with what we are doing.”
