A MINI heatwave is forecast for Essex today with temperatures set to get as high as 21C.
The Met Office has predicted a cloudy start but any patchy rain will quickly clear to leave a dry and bright day with temperatures in the East of England expected to reach at least 19C.
The heat is set to rise during bright and sunny periods throughout the day.
Forecasters say the UV index will also rise to a moderate 4, meaning you should stay in shade near midday when the sun is strongest.
Temperatures are set to peak at around 2pm.
