A NINE-year-old horse rider is competing in an international show.

Izabella Rogers, from Chelmsford, has qualified two ponies for the Royal International Show in July at the Hickstead venue, West Sussex.

The show jumping event sees some of the best horses and riders in the country compete.

The New Hall School pupil will be the youngest rider competing at the show. Izabella began competing at British Showjumping events 18 months ago and her Hickstead qualifications are the latest in a string of impressive milestones she has reached in this time.

She recently came second in the BSJA National 10 and Under Championship events at the Pony of the Year Show.

Izabella now aims to qualify for the Horse of the Year Show and Olympia Show while continuing to gain experience and remain competitive at this incredibly high level.

Carole Goodwin, The Head of the Preparatory Division at the school, said: “We are all extremely proud of Izabella’s achievements.

“She regularly brings in photographs and rosettes from her competi - tions and tells us about her events.”
