TWO short videos have been released in a bid to boost Colchester's tourism.

The minute-long videos are parts two and three of a series, which began ahead of the school half term in February.

They focus on family days out in the borough, including the town's most popular family attractions.

One of the videos look at a friends' break in the town while the other shows what is on offer for a couple who are in the area for a weekend retreat.

Tim Young, Colchester councillor responsible for culture and regeneration, said: "Film is such a powerful medium and the creation of the tourism video shorts helps bring Colchester and all it has to offer to life for all to see.

"At 60-seconds long, the videos are equipped for the digital world and will be streamed through Visit Colchester's social media channels enabling a wide audience.

"The town has a rich cultural and historic heritage but also has so much more to offer.

"I would urge anyone considering coming to Colchester to watch the videos and be inspired."

The films' launch coincides with English Tourist Week, which began on Saturday and runs until Sunday.
