THE Conservatives have won a landslide victory in yesterday's town council by-election in Frinton.

Tory Pamela Walford almost polled more votes than her four election rivals put together.

She romped homes with 389 votes, ahead of Tendring First's Fiona Knowles on 141 votes.

Independent Richard Everett came in third, with the Greens fourth and Labour trailing in fifth place.

It was the first time the Greens have contested a seat on the town council.

The Frinton ward seat was vacated by Mark Brown last year who was forced to stand down after failing to attend meetings due to illness.
