A FATHER was gutted to see his motorbike had been stolen a month into his new job.

Damon Jarvis, from Witham, used his black Skyjet bike to get to his new job in Gosfield, selling fruit and vegetables.

Mr Jarvis, 37, who lives in The Courts, found his bike had been stolen from outside his home last Sunday.

He said he would do whatever it takes to find the people responsible.

He said: "It was parked outside the back of my house and it was chained to a trailer.

"I went out at about 10.30am on Sunday morning and it took a while for it to click that the bike had been stolen.

"I have never had anything stolen, it's gutting."

He has been travelling around trying to find the bike but has had no luck.

He added: "I have lost my mode of transport now, I just want to know where people dump stolen bikes so I can go looking for it.

"I heard there was a bike in Great Bardfield so I went all the way out there one night to find it."

He has only had the bike on the road for three months.

He said: "There are no street lights on overnight outside my house and it's scary as I get up at 4am to go to work, thinking someone may push me off the bike and steal it.

"At that time you don't know who's in your surroundings.

"My boss has been really good and has let me take the van home but I don't like bringing it back in case something happens to it.

"I don't know how long things will have to go on like that for, I've only been in the job for a month so it's difficult.

"I've started getting more annoyed, I'm thinking of getting cameras for outside the house and staying up all night watching."

Police have been made aware and anyone with information should call 101.

The white stickers on the bike in the photo have been removed since the picture was taken.
