POLICE have released an appeal for information after a pushchair was snatched from a communal area in Harwich.

The black Oyster Max pushchair, which has a silver frame and black seat, was taken from a communal area outside at an address in Kings Quay Street, Harwich, at about 3.30pm on Sunday July 31.

A pink blanket was left behind.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Harwich, who is pregnant with her third child, said: "We had only left it outside for 50 minutes while I gave my eldest child her lunch before she went to sing at the Harwich Sea Festival.

"Aside from the stress caused by the theft, I had to carry my daughter around everywhere while six months pregnant.

"The pushchair was also able to be converted into a tandem ready for our new arrival.

"My husband and I have now been forced to use some of the money we had been saving to move house and pay £450 to replace it.”

Witnesses or anyone who has been offered the pushchair for sale or has any information about the theft is asked to call Pc Nikki Heath at Harwich police station on 101.
