A NURSERY invited in a wide variety of different domesticated animals during their special pet week.
After the success of a similar event last year, Honeybear House Nursery, based in Conrad Road in Witham, decided to reopen its doors to pets of all kinds last week.
The nursery also hosted a selection of animal art activities as well as special baking themed workshops for children to get stuck in with.
It wasn't just cats and dogs that turned up with guinea pigs, rabbits and even a gecko named Precious coming along to wow children.
The kids learnt about how to be a responsible pet owner and what they can do to help care for their family pets in their own homes.
Ella Syce, deputy manager of Honeybear Nursery, said: "The pets were brought in by parents and relatives of the children.
"My son comes to the nursery and every day he was coming home and telling me all about what he had seen that day.
"The children got to see the animals grow from last year and are taught to be careful around them.
"It went really well again this time. We would definitely be interested in doing the event again next year."
