GREEN-FINGERED pupils got stuck in when they planted a row of hedges around their music garden.
Children from Years Two to Six at Highfields Primary School, in Colchester Road, Lawford, were involved in the project.
The school council, which is made up of pupils carried out the work, headed by teacher Christine Deane.
“It stems from a school council project last summer, when they decided to make better use of an area in the school grounds which was overgrown,” she said.
“We created a music garden as a space for children to have lessons.” A donation of £100 was made by Manningtree-based David Martin Group towards funding the new hedges.
