A SPECIAL ceremony is being held on Clacton seafront to pay tribute to victims of the Holocaust.

Members of the Jewish community will mark Holocaust Memorial Day at the Sunken Rose Garden on Marine Parade West.

They will be joined by Tendring Council leader Fred Nicholls.

He said: “It is a very poignant event and gives us the chance to remember all those who lived through the horrific events of the Holocaust.

“I would like to invite people of Tendring from all religious groups to come along and show their respect with us on January 27.”

The ceremony starts at 11am.

There will also be a week-long poster display remembering the Holocaust in Clacton Town Hall’s foyer from January 25.
