A LITTLE boy's courage inspired a woman to leap out of a plane for charity.

Charlotte Williams undertook the skydive challenge to raise money for the Clic Sargeant charity, which supports youngsters with cancer.

She was inspired to do the skydive after meeting Johnny Maddison, three, who has undergone chemotherapy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

Charlotte's mum, Debbie, works with Johnny’s mum, Claire, in the finance department at Essex University.

Charlotte, 24, of Gorse Way, Stanway, said: “Johnny is full of energy, he is cheerful and loves to play. He is so cute.

“He is unaware of what is happening with his treatment, which is probably for the best.

“He always seems to be smiling and happy like any three-year-old should be. This is a really difficult time for the family, however, they continue to be strong and positive for the future.

“This is made easier with the help and support of the charity.”

Charlotte, a team manager at the Co-op in Shrub End, Colchester, did her tandem skydive at Beccles Airfield. She said: “It was amazing.

The views were incredible and my landing couldn’t have gone any better.

“I am so proud of myself and it just goes to show you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”

Charlotte raised £1,500 for Clic Sargeant.
