THE Harwich Children's Carnival is making a comeback this summer with organisers calling for artists to help make the event a success.

The carnival, which has been running since 2007, was forced to take a break last year after long-running funding problems.

Now, despite limited grants to help the carnival run, organisers promise the carnival, on June 25, will be another year of "bright colours, wonderful costumes and smiling faces."

Artists are needed to volunteer their creative skills to help the schools taking part make costumes and structures for this year's theme Off the Page.

The parade departs from Harwich Green at 2.30pm and snakes through the town, before returning to the green, where each school will perform.
