Registration for the J's Hospice Dragon Boat Challenge is now open.
The team event takes place on July 26, starting at The River Chelmer, Backnang Square, Chelmsford.
More than 30 crews from Essex companies and organisations are expected to battle it out in 30ft brightly painted Chinese dragon boats over the 200m course.
Each crew is made up of up to ten paddlers, a beating drummer at the front of the boat and a steering helm (provided by the organisers) at the tail end.
Running in conjunction with The River Festival makes it a fun day for all the family – with a wide range of activities around both Rivers and Chelmsford City Centre.
