A HOST of famous faces will be treading the boards at the West Cliff as the Clacton theatre heads into a sizzling summer season.

Squeaky-voiced funnyman Joe Pasquale is back in town with his laugh-a-minute act featuring a tale about how he and twin brother Raynard opened a fish and chip shop in Skegness.

The former king of the I’m A Celebrity jungle will be supported by Britain’s Got Talent star Paul Burling.

Also on the summer bill are the Chuckle Brothers, who are performing their own family fun reinvention of classic film The Wizard of Oz, featuring all the original characters, but with a twist of Chucklevision thrown in.

Talented singer and actor Lee Mead also returns to the West Cliff after his smash hit show last year.

Heart-throb Lee will take audiences back in time with classic musical theatre songs from the 1940s and 50s, such as Some Enchanted Evening and many other melodies from the era, while Brit Award-winning ensemble Only Men Aloud are also playing.

As well as celebrities, local talent will also be given their chance to shine.

The Debbie Millar School of Dance performs Sparkle, with dance routines from the shows, while Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society present Snap – a comic tale of predicament and mistaken identity.

Clacton TheatreTrain are preparing for a Broadway and Disney spectacular, and the Little Shop of Horrors is being performed by Clacton Musical Theatre Society.

Theatre bosses will also be continuing with the monthly comedy nights, which feature an experienced comic from the London circuit performing on the last Friday of each month.

There will also be the usual array of music, with tributes to the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Abba, the Beach Boys and more set to rock the house.
