The trial of two teenagers accused of throwing acid at a Witham dad has been delayed for five months.
Wayne Ingold, 57, had acid sprayed in his face on August 8 last year as he was collecting his post from a communal area in a block of flats in Bramble Road, leaving him with life-changing scars.
Aarron Isaac, 19, of Elverson Road, Lewisham, joined a 16-year-old boy from Mitcham in south London, who cannot be named, at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday where their trial was due to open.
Both deny throwing a corrosive liquid with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and Isaac also denies a charge of wounding with intent.
Judge David Turner QC was forced to put back the case this afternoon until September 29 after the defence failed to receive a crucial timeline of the attack from the Crown Prosecution Service.
At a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court this morning he described the situation as "thoroughly unsatisfactory".
Both teenagers were remanded in custody.
