A children's charity has been handed a £9,000 cheque by Witham firm Crittall Windows.

The donation to Brainwave Children’s Charity, based in Newland Street, will help part-fund the salary of a therapist at the centre and also allow another therapist to attend a specialised training course.

The money will also be spent on therapy equipment which can be used by disabled children and their families.

Crittall’s managing director John Pyatt, Crittall’s managing director, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting this excellent charity on a local basis.

“We’re pleased the donation will have a real impact - the centre’s team does amazing work helping the children and their families.”

Phil Edge, CEO at Brainwave, said: “It costs Brainwave £3,500 per year per child to keep on our exercise therapy programme. We do not receive any Government funding and are totally dependent on donations.

“This donation will enable us to continue our work with disabled children and help them to achieve developmental milestones which in many cases are life-changing.”
