AN “outrageous” new £250,000 ride is set to delight thrill-seekers at Clacton Pier.
The new Outrage attraction was unveiled on Thursday and will remain there throughout the season.
The exhilarating ride spins passengers round at up to 20 revolutions a minute, reaching a height of ten metres above the pier.
“This is the return of the very popular Terminator ride that was here in the late 90s,” said pier owner Billy Ball.
“It’s a new version called Outrage and it takes up to 16 thrill-seekers at a time.
“There will be one of these here throughout the season, but we are hoping to have an upgrade part-way through.
“We’ll be getting the dangly-leg version, so there won’t be a floor and people’s legs will be swimming, which will be even more exciting.”
He added: “It’s our big guest ride for the season. It exciting – it’s an outrageous ride.”
Outrage, which has been rented for the season, uses 160 kilovolt-amps of power and belts out 40,000 watts of music power. More attractions will also be added for the summer.
