HEALTH bosses have sought to allay fears a mental health unit in Dovercourt is closing down.
Concerned service users at All Saints House had feared the centre would be shut down and they would have to travel to Colchester or Clacton for their treatment.
But the North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, which runs All Saints House, said the services would remain at the site “for the foreseeable future”.
A spokesman said: “We would like to make it clear that, contrary to local rumour, there are no current plans to close our facility at All Saints House.
“The change that is currently under way is the introduction of a new and streamlined approach to community mental health services, under our Journeys Programme.”
