A wheelchair users is calling for less advertising boards in the high street.
Charles Hipkin, 62, was injured in London in 1977 when he was working as a fire arms officer.
He has been dependent on a wheelchair ever since.
Mr Hipkin, who now lives in Braintree, sometimes finds the High Street difficult to get down due to the number of advertising boards on the pavements outside businesses.
He has counted 24 boards along the street, with some shops having four outside their premises.
Mr Hipkin said: βI understand they need to advertise their business, but it is an inconvenience.
βIt can also be quite dangerous as it means people have to step onto the road and there are still buses and delivery vehicles driving down the high street.β
