TWO new community wardens will take to the streets of Tendring.
Last year, Tendring Council set aside £100,000 to pay for three Police Community Support Officers after signing a deal with Essex Police.
One PCSO was due to be deployed in Clacton town centre and another was to focus on the council’s housing estates, while the third would have been deployed to wherever the police felt there was the greatest need.
But Essex Police was unable to recruit the PCSOs due to restructuring within the force.
Council leader Mick Page said the aim was now to get one PCSO and two community wardens in place as soon as possible.
