BUDDING birdwatchers from a Frinton school turned their eyes to the sky for a national event.
More than 20 children from Frinton Primary School took part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch at the town’s Crescent Gardens.
The pupils, joined by an RSPB volunteer for the event, logged the birdlife spotted overhead and created their own bird boxes to put up around the seafront garden.
Most of the keen youngsters were from their school’s gardening club, which helps Tendring Council and Frinton in Bloom maintain the gardens.
The council and Frinton in Bloom arranged for the school to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch, which is the biggest wildlife survey in the world.
Council environment boss Nick Turner said: “It is good to see the children interested in the environment around them and the school continues to play a significant role at Crescent Gardens.”
