WHILE Clacton geared up for its big Christmas lights switch-on at the weekend, Tendring Council leader Mick Page has been taking part in a similar event in Germany.
Mr Page spent the weekend in Biberach with Tendring Town Twinners for the opening of its Christmas Market.
He officially opened the market with the mayor, Norbert Zeidler, and joined in the festivities.
“We arrived on Friday and came back yesterday and it was pretty nonstop throughout,”
said Mr Page.
“I feel it is very important that the council – along with the Town Twinners – maintain these important relationships.
“Biberach has a population of 52,000, which is similar to Clacton, and it was good to meet up with their officials and be able to share experiences.”
Tendring is also twinned with Valence in France, Asti in Italy and Swidnica in Poland.
