The Hedingham and District branch of the Royal British Legion has raised an impressive sum towards the poppy appeal.
So far it has raised £9,200, with more donations promised, compared to £8,000 last year.
Branch chairman John Wright said: “Local people have been exceptionally generous in the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
"The money will help the Legion provide vital support to ex-service personnel and their families."
