A POIGNANT concert tribute to fallen soldiers will be held on Remembrance Sunday.

Harwich Royal British Legion Brass Band is presenting a remembrance concert at the West Cliff Theatre, in Clacton, on Sunday, called Bless ‘Em All.

Servicemen from the Tendring district will be honoured by band member Sandra Lester, who has carried out extensive research to gather information on those who left to fight, but never returned from the First World War.

Each audience member will receive a unique card featuring the details of a fallen serviceman, which they can place on local memorials.

This year’s concert, at 3pm, marks 100 years since the outbreak of the Great War.

Harwich Royal British Legion Brass Band musical director Anthony Sanders believes the group have created the perfect blend for the upcoming performance.

He said: “We have been running these concerts for 14 years, but this will be the first time actually on Remembrance Sunday.

“The end of the concert does have a remembrance theme, but there will also be wartime sing-alongs and tunes with a more upbeat feel which everyone will know."

Tendring Male Voice Choir will be performing rousing numbers, such as You Raise Me Up and You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society has also be invited to narrate the production.

Tickets for the concert cost £8.50 (£7.50 concessions) and are available on 01255 433344.
