SUPERMARKET staff turned £50 into more than £1,000 as part of an annual charity challenge.
Colleagues from Asda in Dovercourt were given £50 by solicitor firm Birkett Long at the beginning of June and had 17 weeks to raise as much money as they could for St Helena Hospice.
The fundraisers have included an in store raffle and funday with hospice mascot Dandy Lion coming into the shop, while Shane Routledge and Ashley Bates sat in a tub of pink goo.
Fellow staff members Sandra Bates and Mary Long cycled a 59 mile round trip to Mersea Island and collected £520 in sponsor money.
The final amount raised was £1,060.
