RESIDENTS are being called on to help with a history project that will preserve first-hand memories for years to come.
The Essex Sound and Video Archive needs the people included in its interviews or their family members to approve the use of the recordings before they can be digitalised and put online.
As part of the You Are Hear: Sound and a Sense of Place project, interviews from residents including teachers, mayors, a cinema organist, farm workers and even a chimney sweep have been collected.
The memories come from across Essex including Harwich.
The list of interviews for which the Essex Sound and Video Archive needs permission is available online at http://www.essexrecordofficeblog.co.uk/you-are-hear.
Anyone able to help identify interviewees should contact Sarah-Joy Maddeaux on 01245 244604 or email sarahjoy.maddeaux@essex.gov.uk.
