Abby competes in final of national competition
A young girl competed in the finals of a national competition after hitting all the right notes in the area final.
Abby Murphy, 12, of Norman Hill, Terling, impressed the judges in the pre-teen area finals of the Teen Star competition on May 18 in Hayes, Middlesex.
Abby beat 9,000 other applicants to be one of six to get through to the final at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on July 19, where Abby sang Let Me Be Your Star from SMASH.
Although she did not win the competition, she did receive an award for publicity and won free time in a studio in Southend.
