Punters have been betting that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s new baby will be a girl after Kate stepped out in a pink Mulberry coat.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes said some royal fans were speculating it might be a hint as to the gender of William and Kate’s third child, which is due in April.
Kate, who was carrying out engagements with the Duke on an away day to Coventry, also wore the £1,500 double breasted coat twice while pregnant with Princess Charlotte.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Some punters think Kate’s pink coat is an almighty hint with just a few months to go.
“If the money continues to come in we’ll be forced to make a girl the favourite gender.”
The odds are set at evens at the moment.
Alice is the currently favourite name at 6/1, followed by Victoria 8/1, then Arthur and Albert – both at 12/1.
The Duke and Duchess visited Coventry to tour the Cathedral and open a new £59 million medical training facility at the city’s university.
