Thousands enjoy the entertainment at the Essex Young Farmers' Country Show
THOUSANDS of people took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed a day out at the Essex Young Farmers' Show.
The annual event had found a new home - at Boyton Hall, Roxwell, Chelmsford - and the crowds turned out to enjoy a whole host of activities and entertainment.
The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team (The White Helmets) were just one of a number of highlights as the busy show rings, stalls, exhibitions and tents were never empty.
A police dogs team, the pony club's mounted games, horse displays and competitions and of course the livestock meant it was a big day for the animals as well.
The show was organised by a dedicated team of volunteers made up of members from each of the ten Essex Young Farmers' Clubs from across the county.
Show chairman Adam Marriage said: "It has gone very well and I am very pleased with it all.
"We have been planning since this time last year and seeing everyone coming together after all this time and effort is miraculous.
This is a brand new site for the show and everything has gone really well."
And members from the Southminster branch agreed. Rebecca Smith said: "It has gone really well. It has been very busy with lots of good attractions."
This year the show was held is association with The Year of Food and Farming.
