Record crowds at family fun day
DOUBLE the numbers and double the fun as record crowds flock to the family fun day at the Essex Police Museum.
More than 1400 people went along to join in with a whole host of activities and displays on Saturday May 17 at the museum, Essex Police HQ, Springfield Road, Chelmsford.
With a range of classic cars, horse and dog units, competitions, face painting, exhibitions and much more there was something for everyone.
Museum curator Becky Latchford said: "It has been excellent and everyone has had a superb time.
"We have had 1,412 visitors and still more are coming. This is more than we expected as we had 700 last year.
"We have regular visitors but the horses and dogs really helped along with the classic cars.
"Seeing everyone happy was the highlight."
The event was free but the money raised from face painting and the museum shop will go towards improving the museum itself.
