Maldon: Eight-year-old's war letter receives royal response
When Karen Andrews’ eight-year-old granddaughter sent a letter to the Queen worried about war, never in a million years did she expect a reply.
But not only did her Majesty reply but David Cameron and the Foreign and Commonwealth office also wrote to Maldon’s Jodie Webb.
Jodie, of Primrose Walk, sent her letter to the Queen in August after seeing the news about soldiers dying in Afghanistan.
The Maldon Primary School pupil said: “I wrote the letter because I was concerned about soldiers dying in the war and not coming back home.
“I saw it on the news and wrote a letter straight away to send off. I never expected the Queen to reply.”
