Tollesbury: Hundreds of pounds worth of heating oil stolen

Hundreds of pounds worth of heating oil has been stolen from houses in Tollesbury.

Around £200 worth of oil was stolen from a house in North Road between September 18 and October 2.

Thieves also stole £300 worth of oil from anoth house in the same road between September 15 and September 29.

Police believe the thefts are linked.

Sgt Perry Land said: “It’s a valuable commodity and very expensive.

“It’s a very valuable thing to steal.”

He urged owners of heating oil to make sure the storage tank was securely locked and well lit.
