Children in a Broomfield Hospital ward will be given their very own iPad.

Staff at Chelmsford Ambulance Station helped to raise £700 to buy the hand-held tablet computer at a charity ball in June.

It will be presented to the Pheonix Unit ward tomorrow.

Steve Hudson, Duty Operations Manager at Chelmsford Station, said: "It's great we've been able to get this kit for the kids.

"It can take their mind off things while they're on their way to theatre and hopefully make their time in hospital that little bit happier."
