Latchingdon: Driver who forced ambulance into a ditch fined Latchingdon: Driver who forced ambulance into a ditch fined

A man who forced an ambulance carrying a stroke victim into a ditch has been fined over £700.

Allan Ditch, 30, of Granary Close, Latchingdon, drove into the path of an ambulance on emergency call, forcing it to overturn into a ditch, Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard.

Mr Ditch denied driving without due care and attention but was found guilty at a trial last week.

He was ordered to pay a £150 fine, £15 victim surcharge and £620 costs.

The judge also gave him four penalty points on his licence.
