Parents of two teenagers killed in a road crash were “overwhelmed” and “so proud” of the hundreds of friends who paid tribute to their youngsters.

Hundreds of lanterns filled the night sky in a moving tribute to Abbey Parker, 17, who worked at Matrix hair salon in Burnham, and Bradley Cooper, 18.

Friends and family gathered at Compass Gardens in Creekview Road, South Woodham Ferrers, last Friday night to remember the former William de Ferrers pupils.

The young couple, who had been together for three-and-a-half years, died when the motorbike they were on was in a collision with a tractor in Lower Burnham Road, North Fambridge, on September 16.
