Maldon district: Council thanks public for LDP consultation responses
4:06pm Tuesday 25th September 2012 in Local News
Maldon District Council has paid thanks to residents who responded to consultation over its future development plans.
The preferred options consultation for the council's Local Development Plan, which will set out how the district should be developed between 2014 and 2029, concluded at the end of August.
The council has thanked the 950 people who responded, as well as the estimated 1,400 who attended various consulation events at schools, shops, village halls, libraries and other locations.
Its planning policy team is currently reviewing the responses received, ahead of making any necessary amendments.
Penny Channer, chairman of the council’s planning and licensing committee, said: “The infrastructure projects that will be required to support any proposed future development in the district will be a vital consideration in relation to the progression of the plan.
"Officers are continuing to work closely with key partners and infrastructure providers to ensure that these important issues are an integral part of the Local Development Plan process."
Further public consultation will be carried out prior to final submission to the Secretary of State for independent examination.
