Maldon: Olympic torch goes on display at council
Olympic Games fans can have a closer look at the one of the torches thanks to a young parish councillor.
Torchbearer Rachel Aston of Southminster has loaned her torch to Maldon District Council, which will be displaying it for the next five years.
The former St Peter’s and Plume School pupil, 19, is the district’s youngest parish councillor and was one of the 8,000 people to carry the torch on its
tour around the UK.
