Three community pub volunteers can all take a little bit of credit for the resounding success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Cliff Brown, Caroline Barnett and Roy Webber were among the 70,000 Games Makers who made the Olympics possible.

The familiar faces who run The Norton pub with others spent a total of three months behind the scenes at the event watched by millions of people from around the world.

Roy Webber, 66, of Latchingdon Road, worked alongside the military to help with venue security.

He said the best thing about his experience was the buzzing atmosphere.

“Everyone was so enthusiastic and happy, there was a lot of laughter,” he said.
