Cold Norton: Parents fear over child's safety after school bus changes Cold Norton: Parents fear over child's safety after school bus changes

Furious parents fear their child could be killed after the council have allegedly put a school bus pick-up point on a deadly road.

Kira Smith, of Lower Burnham Road, Cold Norton, claims Essex County Council have deemed her road safe enough for her child to wait for a school coach.

Previously her 13-year-old son, Storm, a pupil at William de Ferrers school in South Woodham Ferrers, was picked up at his front door by an Essex County Council-funded taxi or mini bus.

But a recent road safety inspection by the education transport team have claimed that the narrow B road is suitable for Storm to wait on, said Mrs Smith.

But she insists the road has not changed at all since the last inspection three years ago and refuses to allow Storm to wait there.
