Maldon: Housing advice on hand for elderly
2:00pm Wednesday 12th September 2012 in Local News
Help and advice about housing will be on hand for the district’s elderly residents on Friday.
Maldon District Council is hosting a special Welcome Homes information event at Maldon’s Promenade Park from 10am to 4pm.
The aim is to bring together different organisations who can offer help and support on topics such as heating costs, home adaptations, home and garden maintenance, and housing options.
Advice on health, safety and remaining active will also be on offer.
Councillor Mark Durham, vice chairman of the district council’s community services committee, said: “Meeting the housing needs of older people is a priority for the council and the event is in response to feedback we have received about the need to provide more information to older people, their families and carers to help them enjoy their homes and live independently.”
For more information about the event, which is free to attend, call the council on 01621 876207.
