Maldon: Crime duo wanted over purse theft

Thieves stole an 86-year-old woman's purse from Maldon High Street last week.

The purse, which was stolen from the woman's handbag on June 26, contained £100.

Police are searching for a pair in connection with the theft.

Investigating Officer, Pc Alison King, said: "We want to speak to these two people in connection with this theft.

"We’ve had information that these two people may also be responsible for similar-style thefts in Cheshunt and Waltham Abbey, although we don’t know when and where.

"We want people in the area to be aware of them and to contact us if they see or recognise them.”
