Maldon: Maldon lad to star in second series of BBC comedy

A Maldon lad has found fame in a BBC comedy show, after it has been revealed it will film a second series.

Ethan Lawrence, 19, of Butt Lane, is starring in Bad Education alongside funnymen Jack Whitehall and Matt Horne, of Gavin and Stacey fame.

BBC Three has ordered a second series of the school-based sitcom after just two episodes of the first series have aired, which achieved record ratings for the channel.

With more than 1.3 million viewers an episode, not including views online, Bad Education can now be said to be one of the channel's highest ever rated shows.
